About Mr Shev

I hate writing this bit because its not like I’m Al Capone or someone interesting and windswept. I am just an average guy who decided to start writing a blog because I needed to write and – to a certain extent – had to write.

The Hong-Kong Phooey bit: by day I am a mild mannered animator and designer and I work for a bunch of big broadcasters and corporates and I, essentially, love doing it. But by night I would love to write for a living as I enjoy that as well; it challenges me, scares me and frustrates me…like all the best things should. How am I going to achieve this ambition? Fuck knows. But I am going to write about my journey, try and make a few people laugh and see what happens. I do try and promote it, but it’s hard work.

Aside from that, my work/life balance has changed somewhat and I am now a ‘stay-at-home’ dad…in Switzerland. I look after two kids under five in a new and alien environment and I am trying to record that as well.

I have managed to gain a small, but devoted, following (you know who you are) but I am always excited about getting new visiters – especially new visiters who comment. I love comments.

Anyway, if you want to contact me about any lucrative employment opportunities that involve me sitting on my ass and drinking wine then you can contact me here.

Also, if you are a company who would like your product reviewed then it ain’t gonna happen even if you offer me bribes*

* I will accept large ones, obviously. I am not stupid.

  1. I really did laugh out loud reading your blog. Very funny, and very Bryson-esque, which I hope you take as a compliment as I find his writing very witty! I am adding your blog to my must read list. Thanks for the laughs!

    1. I take a comparison to Bryson as a total compliment as I love his writing. One of the few writers to make me laugh long and hard.

Thank you for the lovely comment. Really means a lot getting positive feedback.

  2. Haaaa you’re blog has made me laugh, lots! I found you through The Mads website after another I blog I follow won an award. I shall be back, keep up the good work!

  3. Mr Shev:

I would like to speak to you about a product I am doing PR for that will help you get the Phil Mitchell attractiveness factor youa re so mystified by. Actually nix that, I might even stretch it as far as a Grant-esque level of allure. Please email me and we can discuss.

    1. I’ve emailed you.

Also, been watching Brothers and Sisters and am trying to figure out Calista Flockheart’s attractiveness. She is about as alluring as celery.
